Mars Landing 5:30Central
Thanks to [info]laurel for the reminder.

Right now (5pm) the NASA channel (ch 77 on Comcast Cable) is preparing to cover the Pheonix Mars Lander landing at 5:30pm. That's 5:30pm Central. I don't know what time it is on Mars.

It's called "Pheonix" because the project rose from the metaphorical ashes of two other programs cancelled after the failed Mars landings earlier. We shall see what the Martian Resistance Movement has in store for the Terran craft this time.

Still have a few minutes until the landing. According to the Phoenix Mars Landing web site, the landing itself won't take place until nearly 7CDT. I will, alas, be gone by then. Maybe I can convince the sports bar where I do Trivia to turn one big screen to NASA...
