After wending my way through downtown St. Paul (see Part I), I arrived at the Republican National Convention. A very different convention than the day before. Monday's sessions had largely been cancelled, and Tuesday all the delegates were at work, or at least unavailable when I looked for them. So I went to the press area set up for non-tv journalists, and talked to people reporting the news for different audiences than you and I.
Andrew Purcell is the US Correspondent for the Sunday Herald, a paper in Glasgow Scotland. He compared the DNC and the RNC and made observations about the relationship between politicians and the media. (mp3, 9:03)

Well, I'm going to stop for tonight to listen to Sarah Palin. Rudy Giuliani is on now; boy, did the GOP dodge a bullet by not nominating this guy (and I liked him as mayor of NYC), but at least he's generating a bit of rah-rah.
