Bush 'planted fake news stories on American TV'

Bush 'planted fake news stories on American TV' May 29, 2006, The Independent

Federal authorities are actively investigating dozens of American television stations for broadcasting items produced by the Bush administration and major corporations, and passing them off as normal news. Some of the fake news segments talked up success in the war in Iraq, or promoted the companies' products.

Is anyone surprised? The conservative news media feeds the gullible conservatives just what they want to hear, and very little else. Pathetic.

That rarest of birds: A funny Clinton joke

(Conan O'Brian, 5/27/06 I think))

At the end of last night's "American Idol," Ryan Seacrest pointed out that more than 63 million votes were cast, which is more than any president in history has received. In a related story, this morning Hillary Clinton bought a karaoke machine.

On a slightly different tack, Al Franken is speaking at the Historic State Theater June 8 to raise money for his PAC. He's reuniting with Tom Davis, and Leo Kottke will be playing. Cheap seats are $25. Anyone up for it?
