A short visual treat: Tigers and naked ladies, yet SFW. Gleaned from Linda Blanchard
Though he did not sing the version of "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" that was #1 on my birthday (which was by Bill Hayes), Fess Parker will ever be part of my very young life, in this role and in many others. RIP.

...won at Trivia last night because he knew who Roosevelt's opponent was in 1936. With the passage of health care reform, it looks like Obama will carry Roosevelt's mantle -- and his success -- into the next several elections.
Reposted via T-Roy Lent in a comment: "Recently, a number of interesting things happened. First, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show that if the Healthcare Reform Bill passed, he would go to Costa Rica. Second, the Healthcare Reform Bill passed. As you can imagine, this has made a number of people very excited. We are among that number. We want to make sure that Rush is able to make good on his promise, and so we've made this website."

It was a CD I burned with EVERY FLOPPY I OWNED as of July 1998. Well, it worked. And I backed up the backup on my backup drive. Why? Because I can. It's 382 Megs out of a 50 Gig external.

Another reason to like Apple: They have abandoned Fox "News" because of Glenn Beck and other insane hatemongers. Gleaned from Gordon Garb. The link to the original Washington Post story is worth following.
Ah, not so anti-government now, scumbags. After the terrorists were arrested plotting to kill dozens of police, "Seven of the defendants asked in court to be represented by public defenders." They represent an "imminent threat". Can we waterboard them?
Since you're reading this in my future, I'm posting from The Past. Ah, those were the days. Gleaned (in real time) from Adrienne Kern McClintock. My future holds Minicon tonight!
The Laryngospasms are The Singing Anesthesiologists, as they filk a doo-wop standard. Not for the medically insecure, but work safe. Gleaned from a Trivia buddy's e-mail.
A lightning storm to start off my birthday. Cool. (4/13/10)
... wound down his birthday eating Somali food (and listening to Al Jezeera) and going to the neighborhood Crime and Drug Committee meeting. Will further decompress with Glee. Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

... just posted a quick video taken during Opening Ceremonies at Minicon. You might be in it!
