Edited Alerted to this story by a by a DailyKos Diary from kkjohnson, I looked for it in the print edition. Hmm... the story was filed 1/26 (on the web) but didn't appear until today. Still, to give credit where credit is due, it made the front page of Saturday's paper (the least read).
Bush continues to sweep dead bodies under the rug, usually aided and abetted by the right-wing press. No flag-draped coffins (except in ads for Republican candidates), veterans benefits slashed, lowered recruitment levels are "met". My father's old division, the 82nd Airborne, is on it's way to Iraq in the current escalation. I wonder what he would make of the incompetence and corruption at the top today. He would have a lot to say... I'm glad this one bubbled to the surface.
